Yamaha will launch a new Skutik 2012 in India

Factory Yamaha ready issued a new scooter in 2012. This scooter will be placed as an entry level scooter.

But it will not happen in Indonesia. Because Yamaha is preparing his new scooter for the Indian market to be issued at the Delhi Auto Show 2012.

This motor will be manufactured at the factory Yamaha in Surajpur plant in Uttar Pradesh with 100 million rupees of investment funds.

"Scooter market in India is huge and we want to be strong. Now we are preparing to launch a scooter here in 2012," said CEO and Managing Director of Yamaha Motor India Pvt Ltd Hiroyuki Suzuki as quoted by Economic Times.

Yamaha reluctant to reveal to appearance and specifications of the motor, the man who once held the Yamaha operating in Indonesia is only to say that the last bike Yamaha is a leading edge motor design.

Yamaha also hope with the launch of the product itself is able to repeat the success when bringing Yamaha scooter market in Indonesia to master first. "It will be more focused as a personal commuter, with stylish design and smart as Yamaha motorcycles are sold here," he explained.

"In Indonesia, Yamaha's market share reached around 46 percent, close to Honda. I want that to happen in India," he added.

In India, the scooter market in 2010 rose 50.54 percent and is now approximately 19.6 million units which is still dominated by Honda and local Indian players like TVS and Hero Honda. To increase the capacity to compete with opponents that investment funds were used to increase production, especially in the production of body parts.

Thus, in 2011 Yamaha predict could produce 5 million motorcycles. 3.5 million motorcycles for the Indian market and the remainder for export. Up from the acquisition last year were at 3.8 million units. 2.5 million for India and 1.3 million for export.
