Based on data from autoevolution, Thursday (4/28/2011), the BMW 335d received the title 'Diesel Car of the Year "from readers of "The Diesel Driver "in the event the New York International Auto Show.
This award was received by German car after being selected by 29.6 percent of respondents from 43 countries. 83 respondents came from the United States.

Each year readers choose Driver Diesel Diesel Car of the Year from all the cars circulating in the U.S.. For the year 2011, readers chose from 12 passenger cars and SUVs.
The criteria for a predicate 2011 Diesel Car of the Year include the level of fuel efficiency, emissions, performance, handling, appearance, comfort and overall vehicle package. Of all the criteria, the BMW 335d is considered the best.
